Pinion Shafts

Pinion shafts are used to transfer power from a gearbox or motor to a machine. They typically have a series of spur gears which transmit power from the drive to a driven mechanism. The shafts are usually made of metal and have a surface treatment for corrosion resistance. If a non-metallic material is used then it should be compatible with the lubricant used. Pinion shafts should be able to withstand high torque, shock and vibration in order to reliably transfer power.
