Automotive Pulleys

Automotive pulleys are mechanical drive components used to transfer power from the engine and other rotating power sources to drive belts, chains, or other mechanical components. Automotive pulleys consist of a wheel or plate with a groove in it and a groove on the outside rim so a belt, chain or other component can be wrapped around the wheel or plate. Automotive pulleys can be used to drive all sorts of systems including power steering, air conditioning, alternators and water pumps. Automotive pulleys are also often used in conjunction with other automotive components such as crankshafts and camshafts for timing purposes.
