Owing to our vast industrial experience in this domain, we are involved in providing an enormous quality range of Pu Synthetic Adhesive (Fevicol Membrane PU) to our clients. FEVICOL Membrane PU is a solvent based polyurethane contact adhesive. It exhibits immediate bond strength.
The adhesive dries to a tough, flexible and colourless film with good resistance to water and aging. Generally
about 5% cross linking agent (Fevicol Hardener-C) is added for better results viz. improved bond strength and
heat resistance.

Adhesive Properties:

•Appearance: Colourless Transparent Liquid
•Solids Content: Approx. 15 %
•Viscosity at 30°C: 8-13 Poise (By Brookfield Viscometer RVT/Sp. #2/20 RPM)

Fields of Application:

FEVICOL Membrane PU is used to bond PVC foil to MDF / Plywood, especially for doors

Application methods:

•Clean the substrates to be bonded. Surfaces must be dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, mould-release agents and other contaminants
•Mix FEVICOL Membrane PU with appropriate quantity of Hardener-C (3-5% by weight). Stir well to get a uniform mixture. Addition of Hardener-C is mandatory
•Using a painting brush or air supported spray gun, apply the adhesive uniformly on both the substrates to be bonded. Porous substrates may require a second coat, which can be applied after 5-10 minutes of first coat
•Allow to dry for minimum 15-20 minutes at room temperature (approx 30°C). Porous substrates may need more time for drying. When used as single component, extra drying does not hinder the process of bonding, but when Hardener-C is added, drying beyond a certain time (eg. one hour or so) may lead to inferior bonding.
•Heat Activation: The adhesive film on drying is totally non-tacky to touch but the same adhesive film becomes tacky on heating. Using an oven or hot air blower, or any other technique, raises the temperature of the dried adhesive film to about 60-700 C. Align both the substrates and firmly press them together.
•Allow to cure for 24 hours.
